VE Parrotts (Oakley) Ltd
VE Parrotts are one of our more local customers and we have been working together for many years, during this time we have built a superb working relationship. We are currently working on 2 projects, Lawton Road, Rushden and Wood Lane, Cotton End, Bedford. With a 3rd project, The Kingsway, Bedford due to start Roofing works in October.
The Kingsway, Bedford. This apartment block will consist of 33 units, 1-2 Bedrooms and some with balconies. It is a high specification contract due to the customers requirements and high standards of workmanship. The roof is split into 4 levels, each with very different requirements and the work will be split into the different stages of building works. The top floor apartments are attic style rooms with Velux Rooflights. They will be using Grampion Antique Brown Tiles.
It will be an interesting project as this area of Bedford is in the process of being redeveloped, with many older run down buildings being replaced with Newly Designed Houses, Apartments and Office/Commercial Buildings. With Britannia Works just around the corner, which we completed late 2006 with many New Town Houses, Standard Houses and Apartments. There is also Bedford County Hall just 2 minutes away, which is due a makeover shortly. All in place to bring a new impression to Bedford.
Paul Newman Homes
Upton, Northamptonshire.
We are now entering into the third and possibly final year on the Paul Newman New Homes Development in Upton, Northants. We would like to thank them for inviting us to work on this flagship development for the Princes Trust. Which Prince Charles himself has visited and has also had mention on the news.
It has not all been plain sailing due to the complexity and diversity of this development. The site consists of several blocks of 2-4 storey buildings with varying roof pitches up to 55 degrees. This developement is valued at approximately £1.5 million for the roof tiling and lead work alone and comprises natural slating, clay plain tiling and clay pan tiling, all natural and traditional products.
We have worked closely with Paul Newman New Homes and all sub contractors, establishing many long-term relationships along the way. This has enabled us to devise solutions and best methods of practice particular to each unit in order to move the site forward as quickly as possible without compromising the standard of workmanship or the health and safety of all those on site.
